NFA 2018!
I am thrilled to be involved with the following events at the upcoming National Flute Association Convention:
Visionaries: The Twentieth-Century Flute – Éva Polgár and I will be performing Boulez’s Sonatine for flute and piano on this program of monumental twentieth-century works presented by the New Music Advisory Committee.
Into the Music: Masterclass with the 2018 Commissioned Composers – The New Music Advisory Committee is hosting this masterclass with Eve Beglarian, Valerie Coleman, and Augusta Read Thomas.
Case Study: Story of the Oral Histories of Robert Aitken and Robert Dick – Moderated by Nancy Toff, Paul Taub and I will be presenting about our work as the interviewers for the oral histories of NFA Lifetime Achievement Award winners Robert Aitken and Robert Dick.
Flute and Percussion Showcase: Rachel and Brian Nozny will perform the world premiere of Leaves, a work Brian recently commissioned as a gift for Rachel in honor of their 10th wedding anniversary.
Additionally, I am honored to be one of the judges for the quarterfinal round of the Young Artist Competition.
